On the Coronado Police Services Facility, designed by MDWF:
The city of Coronado expects to save approximately $28,000 annually due to energy-efficient envelope, lighting, and mechanical measures added in the design process. The city will gain energy savings of over 300,000 kilowatt-hours per year, plus cash incentives from SDG&E.
Leadership in the application of energy-conscious and environmentally sensitive design principles is not a recent discovery or change in our firm's design philosophy. Throughout our 60+ years, we have been guided by the underlying goal of responding to each Client and every project from the perspective of:
Energy-efficiency and reduced operating costs
Protecting the environment
Sustainable building products
Proper building orientation
Natural lighting and ventilation
Analyzing long-term, life-cycle costs as compared with current, established budget parameters.
We are an advocate of the principles recently put forth by the United States Green Building Council, and are committed to leadership in energy and environmental design with our LEED-accredited staff.
